Now I don’t know about you, but the New Year is always a bit of an odd time for me. On the one hand, the New Year can symbolise a new beginning. A chance to start afresh and put into place changes that you want to make. But on the other hand, it can be hard to look back at all the times that didn’t quite work out how you planned. For me, 2019 was overall a great year. There were some low points of course, but there were also a lot of high points as well. I really can’t wait to see what 2020 brings.
Some of the highlights for me were my holidays to Rhodes and Portugal. Attending not one, but two fitness festivals at Balance and Sweaty Betty Live. Going to see the Book of Mormon and Hamilton in the West End. Enjoying endless Afternoon Tea’s with friends and family.
Some of the low points include an unexpected job change at work. My personal relationships not working out how I would have liked them to. And not finding a healthy balance with food and exercise. But overall, I know my low points might seem insignificant to others. I didn’t lose anyone this year. All my friends and family are healthy and happy. As am I.
So what does 2020 hold for me? Well for starters an unexpected amount of travelling. Although I do love a holiday I’ve never been on a whole lot. Mainly because there have been other priorities. And also because not having that significant other can sometimes limit the amount of trips you can plan. But so far this year I have six trips planned. Four of which are already booked.
I’m off to Norway in January, Portugal in March, Florence in May and Nice in July. I’m hoping to do another trip to Italy at the end of the summer and possibly a bit of winter sun at the end of the year. But we’ll see. If it all happens, it’s be more trips in one year that I’ve done in the past three years combined!
What else am I hoping 2020 hold for me? Honestly, as long as I continue to be happy and healthy that’s all I want. Yes I am single, and meeting someone would be nice. But it’s not the be all and end all for me. I’ve spent. a long time getting to a place where I am truly happy. And you know what, I really am. I’m content in myself. And happy with the life that I’ve built for me. If it happens then great, but if not, then I know 2020 will still be an absolutely amazing year for me. And that’s all that matter’s right?
What are you hoping 2020 will hold for you?
