Happy Friday everyone! And Happy Easter too! So this weekend is obviously all about the chocolate right? Or is that just me? Whatever you plan on doing over this Bank Holiday weekend, I just hope the weather is just as lovely as last weekend. As I spent what had to be the best day of the year in Henley-on-Thames sampling the Afternoon Tea menu at Hotel Du Vin with some fab bloggers. And what a menu it was! Now those of you who know me, know that I love an afternoon tea. And if you follow me on Instagram then you’ll know that I tend to have one pretty regularly. What can I say, I love any excuse for a glass of bubbles and some cake!

And last weekend’s afternoon tea was just perfect! It obviously helped that the weather was beautiful. But the whole location was perfect. I’d never been to Henley before but it’s definitely somewhere to head back to soon. It’s such a pretty place on the river, and having been to a few Hotel Du Vin’s around the country, I knew the hotel would be amazing. And it was! Hotel Du Vin tend to take older buildings and transform them into lovely luxury hotels. And the Henley one was no different!

There were eight of us getting to sample the menu, including Stephanie from Hope Freedom Love, Sophie from Sophie-Rose.co.uk, Claire from Clairey Sweetie and Jasmine and Kirsty from Soeurs De Luxe. We were lucky enough to be sat outside for our afternoon tea. And what a gorgeous afternoon tea it was! You begin with a selection of mini sandwiches and savouries including a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, an egg and cress mayonnaise brioche sub, a ham and Gruyère croissant, a heritage tomato and tapenade galette and finally a goat’s cheese and spinach quiche.

Following the savouries, it’s time for the sweets! Which included a selection of warm scones served with a mixture of jams and clotted cream. Followed by a few sweet mini treats including lemon meringue pie, raspberry and dark chocolate teacakes and rhubarb and custard doughnuts. And if that isn’t enough, you also have homemade apple candy floss! And not forgetting your choice of tea. Plus you can add a gin cocktail or glass of bubbles to make it extra special.

And for the month of April, Hotel Du Vin have this afternoon tea on offer for just £20 per person! What an absolute bargain! So if you’re at a loose end this Easter weekend, or just fancy treating yourself later this month, then get yourself booked in ASAP!
Thank you so much to Lauren from #LDNMeetUp and Hotel Du Vin for inviting me along. And thank you to the other lovely bloggers for being such fab company in a beautiful setting! If you’re interested in booking your own afternoon tea, then you can do it on the Hotel Du Vin’s website.
