*gifted experience but all opinions are my own*
Now I don’t know about you, but one of the things that I haven’t experienced in a while is a night away. So when the opportunity came to experience a dream staycation in my home town, well naturally I couldn’t refuse. So with my overnight bag packed, I headed only 10 minutes down the road to check in to the newly refurbished Cromwell Hotel, Stevenage.

Nestled in the historic Old Town of Stevenage, this boutique hotel was the ideal spot for a night away from home. And I have to say the decor beautiful, I mean just look at the interiors! So the Hotel used to the farmhouse home of Oliver Cromwell’s secretary John Thurloe, and the decor, especially in the bedrooms, compliments the character of the place perfectly.

With 77 rooms in the hotel, each one is individually designed and I love the look and feel of mine. From the teal walls and orange wingback chairs, to the graphic headboard and pineapple lamps, for me it was total #GOALS. And has definitely encouraged me to experiment a little more with bolder colours in my flat.
But there’s more to the hotel than just beautiful rooms. There’s also the delicious food, and cocktails, at their restaurant Rump and Wade. Which I have to admit I have been to before. But this was the first time experiencing dinner, and it’s safe to say I’ll be back again very soon!

For starters we shared the vegetarian board which included hummus, tzatziki, marinated feta, sundried tomatoes, olives, crudities and toasted pitta. Before moving onto the mains, which we both went for roast spatchcock chicken with garlic and rosemary, chargrilled peppers and courgettes, and chips. Which was incredibly tasty and filling. But there’s always room for pudding right? And I really couldn’t resist the chocolate fudge brownie with salted caramel ice cream and chocolate sauce. It was chocolate heaven!
And if that wasn’t enough we also got to enjoy this month’s signature cocktail, the Spring Martini – which was amazing, and tasted just as good as my usual choice of a Cosmopolitan. All before heading to bed, so an extremely comfy night’s sleep.
So if you’re after a dreamy night away in the historic Old Town of Stevenage, then definitely look into The Cromwell Hotel.

What lovely rooms, they look beautifully decorated, the headboard is super. I also love the look of the cocktails. I would definitley stay here!
There’s a gorgeous little hotel just down the road that I’d love to stay at. Love the idea of a staycation where I live.
This looks like such a beautiful hotel! We have some family over in Stevenage – we live near to St Albans – so might consider this hotel next time there’s a family party.
Oh my, what an absolutely stunning looking place to go and stay. That room is beautiful and the food looks delicious.
I love doing staycations and things close to home as I think it’s a nice time to recharge without having to go too far away x
Oh wow what an epic hotel. Its great when the comfort of the hotel is lush as are the food and drinks. I’d stay here for sure! xxx
The headboard is fit for royalty – love the design on that. These cocktails look rather drinkable too!
