When it comes to lipsticks I love pale pinks and nudes that are pretty much my lips but better colour. I’ve yet to find a red that suits me, so I tend to stick to the paler colours that I know suit my skintone and makeup looks. But I have to say wearing purpler on my lips is stepping out of my comfort zone a little. But I’ve been wearing this lipstick and lip pencil so much lately so let me show you all this dreamy lip combo from Kiko and Lancôme.
I’ve not tried any of the Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge lipsticks before but I have to say I’m really impressed. This one is one of their most popular colours ‘mauve majeste’, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a stunning pale purple colour with pink undertones that I’ve literally been wearing non stop for the past few weeks. In fact if you follow me on snapchat (username: stephaniemerry *shameless plug alert*) this is the lipstick I wear in all of my snaps!
The lipstick is enriched with Lancôme’s unique replenishing formula, which creates smoother and fuller lips as well as keeping your lips hydrated for eight hours. This lipstick is lovely on it’s own, but I find it also goes really well with this smart lip pencil from Kiko in shade ‘Pearly Pink Peony’. At only £2.50 this lip pencil is an absolute bargain and available in a whopping 16 shades. The formula is creamy but blendable and allows you to define your lips for a natural finish. Plus it’s smudge proof and lasts for ages on the lips.
Although it is a mauve coloured lipstick, I find the colour to be pretty natural on the lips. As I said I’ve been wearing this non stop lately and think I’ll keep wearing this dreamy lip combo all the way through summer and into Autumn.

This Lancome shade looks stunning on you, enhancing your natural skin tone. Like you I tend to shy away from reds, though when I was in my 20s I wore nothing else! Having said that I was recently sent the new Urban Decay Alice collection and the red in that (Iracebeth) looked stunning on – a really pleasant surprise 🙂 Tx
