Five things to do this weekend

five things to do this weekend

Happy Saturday everyone! It’s finally the weekend and I couldn’t be happier. To say this week has been busy is an understatement. It’s been pretty hectic and a little like an emotional roller-coaster. But that’s normal right…? Anyway now that it’s the weekend it’s time to make the most of it and thoroughly enjoy these two whole days off. Normally I spend my weekends working on my blog but I’m in a little creative funk at the moment. So instead I plan on doing as many fun things as I can to spark some creativity back into my life. So if you’re not sure what to do over the next two days, here are five things to do this weekend.

Go Exploring

Although I live 20 minutes outside of London I tend to only visit there for work now. It’s not often that I just catch a train to go and explore London. Normally there’s a reason to go. An event, or a chance to see friends. So this weekend I fancy just hopping onto a train and taking a walk around London. I love walking through the city getting to see a side of London that you don’t see from the tube or from a bus.

Exercise

Those who know me well know I don’t do this near enough as I should. Which is silly really as for me working out is as much of a mental workout as it is a physical one. It’s a chance to switch off my brain for an hour and just concentrate on breathing! And it really does work wonders. It improves my mood, I feel happier and healthier. And it helps tone the jiggle I’ve acquired over the years. I’m going to try and go for a run or a ride on one of these scooters from Skate Hut

Bake and eat cake

I think this one is self explanatory. I mean who doesn’t love to eat cake? I certainly don’t and for me baking is incredibly therapeutic. So I’m going to dog out my Hummingbird Bakery cookbooks and find some easy but tasty cupcakes to bake. And then I’m going to eat them!

Read a book

Although I have so much TV to catch up, rather than slobbing in front of the TV this weekend, I want to read a book. I loved reading at a child and now I only get a chance to read while I’m on holiday. I’ve charged my Kindle so I’m going to sit down and find a new book to read. And then try and read at least one new book a month.

See friends and family

And finally, the weekend is the perfect chance to catch up with friends and family. And right now I need some friends and family time. So I have a family lunch planned on Sunday and a catch upw with friends on Saturday.

These are my five things to do this weekend. What do you have planned over the next two days?

I spent yesterday doing some scuba diving training which meant six hours in a dive pool. I think exploring is always a lot of fun x
