Now I don’t know about you, but one of the things that I would love to have is healthier and whiter looking teeth. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not looking to have a smile that would rival Simon Cowell’s in terms of brightness and whiteness. Just for my teeth to look a little healthier and a little whiter. So if you’re also looking for the same. Here are my three steps to healthier and whiter looking teeth.

YOU NEED A GOOD TOOTHBRUSH
Honestly, one of the things that really helped improve the whiteness of my teeth was finding myself a good toothbrush. And remember you need to replace it every few months. Otherwise, you’re just transferring bacteria to your mouth. Which is just gross. A good toothbrush doesn’t mean an expensive one. Personally, I really like the Colgate 360 black toothbrush. It has thin slim tip bristles which means it can reach deep between the teeth and along the gumline for a truly deep clean of your mouth. Plus it features a cheek and tongue cleaner for whole mouth freshness.
GO ON A WHITE-TEETH DIET
This might sound extreme. But I promise you it’s not as extreme as some diets I’ve been on. But smoking, drinking red wine, black tea or Coke will affect the whiteness of those pearly whites. Basically if it’s dark in colour before you put it in your mouth. Then it’s probably going to stain your teeth. In theory you should brush your teeth after consuming those dark foods or drinks. But seeing as that’s not always possible, you can choose to eat food that will help clean your teeth naturally. foods like apples, raw carrots, or my personal favourite – popcorn.
GIVE BAKING SODA A TRY
I’m not kidding. Baking soda has natural whitening proprieties which is why it’s a popular ingredient in toothpaste. It’s also a mild abrasive which can help to scrub away surface strains on the teeth. Just mix one teaspoon with two teaspoons of water and you’re good to go. Now this won’t whiten your teeth overnight, but it will work if you use it once a week for a couple of months. I wouldn’t use it more than once a week as it can take off the natural enamel that your teeth have.

So there you have it. My three steps to healthier and whiter looking teeth. Let me know in the comments below if you have any other suggestions for how to achieve healthier and whiter looking teeth. Or what works for you.
