Life is full of highs and lows, that’s what makes it exciting right? I know I’ve been a bit MIA recently and I wanted to share with you all a little bit of my life lately. Especially as I’m going through one of life’s highs while also going through a pretty rubbish low as well.
So the high is that I’ve got a new job! A job that I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have got had it not been for this blog and the skills I’ve learnt since starting Merry Musing back in December 2013. Skills that don’t feel like skills until you realise how much you learn through blogging. From social media to content planning, photography to relationship building, it’s all covered in my new role and I couldn’t be more excited for the challenge ahead. It’s going to be pretty manic for me from now on. I’ve gone from a pretty dull job to one that is incredibly fast paced, along with a commute that involves me negotiating the m25 for an two hours a day. Not ideal, but the job is well worth it. But it has meant that my blog has started to suffer. No longer do I have the time or energy to take pictures, write copy and schedule tweets after work. Like so many other bloggers out there, I’m now trying to squeeze it all into 48 hours at the weekend. I used to try and blog five times a week and film two videos. I’m starting to feel this is just too ambitious for me at the moment so the schedule and content may be changing over the next few weeks as I try to find my feet again as a blogger.
Now onto the low. My boyfriend and I split up three weeks ago. All breakups suck and this one was out of the blue. Although it was my choice to end it, I’m still struggling to get over it and to move on. But on the plus side, the new job, and blogging will help to distract me from wallowing in self pity. After all, this isn’t the first break I’ve been through and chances are it won’t be the last.
So this has been the highs and lows of my life lately, what are yours? Let me know in the comments below if you have any exciting news to share or any lows that you want to get off your chest.

So congratulations and commiserations are in order!! Well done you on the new job and he probably wasn’t good enough for you anyway!
