My most prized possessions

My most prized possessions

My most prized possessions

My most prized possessions

My most prized possessions

My most prized possessions

I’m the kind of person who places a lot of sentimental value on objects. They remind me of certain times in my life,  places I’ve visited and people who I was with at the time. Which means I can really struggle to throw things out and move on with trying to live a clutter free organised life. Which got me thinking about the items that I could never throw away. The items that I would save first in a fire, so here are my most prized possessions.

Journal

I’ve kept a journal on and off for as long as I can remember. I still have the journals from when I was a teenager and if I ever need cheering up I can guarantee that reading the trails and tribulations of my 16 year old self will always bring a smile to my face. I’ve tried to get back into it this year, so that it can be another snapshot of my life  I can read and smile at 10 years from now.

Camera

It wasn’t until I started to really take blogging and my blog seriously that I got into photography. Now I can’t imagine not wanting to capture so much of my life on camera. It was around this time last year that I decided to treat myself to my first ‘proper’ camera (a Canon 700D for those interested) and since then I’ve dedicated a lot of time and effort into learning how to get the most out of it.

Phone

I don’t know to function if my phone loses battery mid way through the day, let alone if I had to go a whole day or week without it. It’s my connection to my friends, family and the blogging community. And not to mentioned the thousands of photos and videos that are stored on there. I know it might sound sad, but I really couldn’t live without my phone.

Jewellery

Most of my jewellery is costume jewellery and although it does mean a lot to me, there are two incredibly special pieces  that I couldn’t bear to be without in my life. The first are my Tiffany earrings. I actually got these for my 18th birthday from my dad. And within about three months I’d lost one of the earrings. Devastated doesn’t even come close to how I was feeling. But for my 21st my Dad surprised me by buying me the exact same pair. So now I have a completed pair once again.

The second piece is pretty special as well. For my 21st birthday my mum wanted to get me something that I would keep forever. For her 21st her parents had given her a charm bracelet and she wanted to continue the tradition by buying me this gorgeous Links of London one. As you can see I’ve collected quite a few charms over the years from different milestones in my life including turning 21 and graduating. Although I don’t wear this piece as much anymore I still couldn’t imagine not having it in my life.

What are your most prized possessions?

This is such a lovely post 🙂 I really wish I’d kept my journals from when I was younger, I bet it would be so funny to read back on them now!!

Lovely items. My prized possesions would be my two cameras, my phone, my laptop (and external hard drive which has all my photos on) and my memory books. I have every single gig ticket/ holiday stuff/ cinema ticket etc that I’ve had ever since like 2006 and there are so many memories in it x

Agree with you on the camera! When I was in Switzerland last summer with friends I said that I’d rather lose my passport than camera and they all looked at me like I was nuts!

Lovely post! I totally agree with the journal one. My diaries from the last four years are my most prized possessions because without them I’ll forget so many great days with my favourite people. I love the design of yours. Where is it from?
