Its no lie that one of the biggest downsides of colouring your hair is the roots. It doesn’t matter if you’ve gone lighter, darker or you just want to cover your greys, after a few weeks of colour, your natural colour will start to grow underneath. And it’s really annoying not to mention it can get expensive if you’re having to visit the salon every few weeks to cover your greys or roots. Which is why I’m pleased to see that brands have started to bring out products to cover the roots before it’s time to head back to the salon for your next hair appointment. And one of my favourites is from The Hair Experts.

The hair experts

The Hair Experts Instant Touch Up Kits does exactly that. It’s touch up your roots in between salon appointments. The kit and formula has been deigned to help you quickly and simply cover up either your greys or roots, just like you touch up your makeup. You can use this on dry or styled hair and even do it on the go.
To use just pull your hair tight in a downward motion and use the brush to apply the colour to your greys or roots. You can build up the colour as desired to achieve the coverage and shade that blend with your colour. Personally I think this idea is brilliant. You can use spray version of this type of product but by using a powder you can reapply it throughout the day, it’s non oily and doesn’t dry out your hair. Plus as it’s not a spray it doesn’t leave you hair feeling sticky of stiff and you can just wash it out with your shampoo.
The Hair Experts Instant Touch Up Kits are available exclusively to Boots and cost £9.99.
Have you tried a root touch up before? Do you think it’s a good idea to use one in between salon appointments?

I’ve personally haven’t had to deal with my roots since I was a red head 10 years ago but I do think these products are good for those in between appointments. Last time I went blonde, I kept my roots dirty lol I wasn’t up for the upkeep. x

I haven’t tried this as I don’t dye my hair anymore but it sounds like an amazing product!
