The five best ways to enjoy Valentine’s Day if you’re single

The five best ways to enjoy Valentine's Day if you’re singleBeing single on Valentine’s Day can be tough. It can feel like the whole world is coupled up, apart from you that is. But Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be for couples. This is the first Valentine’s Day in about three years that I’ll be single for and I’m planning on defying cupid and indulging in some seriously indulgent pursuits. So if you’re like me here are the five best ways to enjoy valentine’s day if you’re single.

  1. Treat yourself – seeing as you aren’t spending your hard earned money on some guy this Sunday, you might as well spend it on yourself. Give yourself some credit for how amazing you really are and treat yourself to something special, like a manicure, a new piece of jewellery or some new shoes. Personally I’ve treated myself to a spa voucher from Rakuten for me and my best friend to enjoy.
  2. Spend the day with other single people – just because you’re single doesn’t mean you’re alone. So round up your other unattached friends and do something fun together. Whether that’s hitting a bar or going to the cinema just enjoy the time with your girlfriends.
  3. Join in a ‘secret valentine’ with your friends – who needs a Valentine when you and your friends have each other? So get them all together, put your names in a hat and buy your ‘secret Valentine’ a little something special to show them how much you care about them.
  4. Spend time with those you love – Valentine’s Day is the day of love and just because you’re not part of a couple doesn’t mean you shouldn’t spend the day with those you love. So see your family and friends and spend time with them.
  5. Host a Valentine’s party – invite your friends over for wine, food, a gossip and good time. Either stay in and watch films together featuring your favourite Hollywood hunks or stick on the iPod and dance around to Whitney, Britney and whoever else you want.

How are you spending Valentine’s Day?

I love all of these ideas, particularly the one to treat yourself 🙂 Me and my partner never really do presents or anything so I’m going to adopt this one anyway I think and finally treat myself to the naked 1 urban decay palette which I’ve been wanting forever. Hope you have a lovely spa day with your friend 🙂

Spending the day with other single people is usually how I celebrate! It really is just as nice to have a girly night out than a date!
