Top Five Festival Fashion Essentials – the Accessories

Festival Fashion

As a self confessed festival veteran I’ve spent many a day and night in a wet and muddy field attending one of the numerous music festivals around the country. And seeing as it’s currently festival season I’d thought I’d share with you all my top five festival fashion essentials. So if you’re struggling to decide what to wear to V Festival, Reading or Leeds or Bestival, then keep reading.

1. Wellies

Festival Fashion

If Glastonbury was anything to go by then I think it’s a given that you’ll need wellies at a festival this summer. And even if the rain holds off and there is no mud, still take your wellies. If you go for flip flops, you’re feet will be black by the end of the day, converse or trainers are OK, but I personally always take my wellies. There is so much rubbish on the floor by the end of the night, that I’d rather have my feet covered, than ruin a pair of converse with random food stains.

2. Across the body bag

Festival Fashion

When you’re standing in a packed field with a cider in one hand and your other hand up in the air cheering on your favourite band. You don’t have a third hand to hold onto your bag. So if you haven’t already, invest in a small across the body bag. You don’t want anything too big, just something with enough space to hold your phone, a plastic poncho (for the rain) and money.

3. Sunglasses

Festival Fashion

Even if the sun hasn’t made an appearance, chances are you won’t have slept much at a festival and will probably still be hungover from the day before. This is when your sunglasses will come in handy.

4. Decorative Details

There are only a few places where it’s suitable to wear fake eyelashes with butterflies on and metallic temporary tattoos made to look like jewellery. And a festival is one of those places. So take advantage and go for an uber glam look – go for the butterfly fake eyelashes and wear the temporary metallic tattoos. Afterall, you’ll have to be back to normal in the office the following week.

5. Hair garlands

Festival Fashion

Like the butterfly fake eyelashes and temporary metallic tattoos, hair garlands have a time and a place. Unless your five years old or something. So take advantage of this and wear one to your hearts content. Or why not make your own to match your outfit?

Are you off to any festivals this year? What are your top festival fashion essentials?

great list of essentials that i think covers everything, the only thing i would add is a rain mac, especially one of those that can be rolled into a bag and kepy tiny till it rains – which it usually will.
