Upping the specs appeal with David Clulow

David Clulow

Now as someone who has needed glasses for most of my school life. I can remember a time when glasses really were not cool. I mean, for someone who already had braces and ridiculously frizzy hair. It wasn’t like glasses were going to make me look a whole lot worse. But they definitely didn’t make me a whole lot better. That’s for sure!

But thankfully times have changes. Not only are glasses cool again. But the whole experience of getting your eyes tested is actually quite fun. And pretty informative too. Last month I had the pleasure of getting my eyes tested and getting to pick out some new frames in David Clulow.

Now I have to say, that having been to a fair few High Street opticians in my time. The David Clulow stores look and feel a lot different. Rather than feeling like you’re going to be rushed in, rushed out and forced to pick some new frames in 30 seconds or less. The David Clulow experience is so much more relaxed! It has a luxury but stylish feel to it. So much so, that some parts of the shop don’t even feel or look like they’re an opticians.

And that continues once you’re in the room having your eye test. Not only are the eye tests incredibly thorough offering a full eye health check. But the technology they use, is like nothing I’ve seen in other opticians before. It definitely made the sometimes dull and repetitive experience a whole lot more interesting!

But moving onto the fun part, the frames! As I’ve said, I’ve had to wear glasses for a number of years. So much so that I’ve lost count of the number of designer frames that have graced my face over the past couple of decades. The last pair were a beautiful Chanel pair that I loved when I first got them. But the thinner frames, just didn’t suit my face anymore. Which is why I knew this time, I wanted to go for the bigger, geek look frames. That I thought would flatter my face a lot more.

And I love the ones I got to pick out! These Burberry ones are exactly the shape I was after. And I love the two tone colour that is matching my hair perfectly at the moment! Before this eye test I only wore my glasses for work. But having had the full eye health check with David Clulow, it turns out my eye site has changed quite a bit. So now I’m wearing these frames not only for work, but for driving, watching TV, blogging….. basically most of the day! And I couldn’t be happier about it. These frames are my new favourite accessory.

I love glasses on people but I look awful in them although I do need to use them when it comes to driving at night just to sharpen my vision. I wish they suited me more!

Those glasses look really good! My OH has to wear glasses for reading, but hates it because she can’t find ones that she likes…

I’ve worn glasses since I was 6, and they are so much nicer now than when I was little! Your specs are gorgeous, and it sounds like the buying experience was great too

These are absolutely lovely glasses and the shape suits your face so much. I’ve never had to wear glasses before so I’d have no idea what to pick if I had to x
