Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

As soon as I saw that Urban Decay was launching yet another naked palette, I knew I had to have it. I can’t help. And having ordered the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette from their website as soon as it was available, and paying over the odds in shipping, I couldn’t wait for it to arrive. And I’m not disappointed.

In my opinion this is the best packaging yet. It’s a plastic case with a smoke print, which looks amazing. But it’s also incredible durable and lightweight. Plus it has a large full sized mirror and a duo blending brush. And unlike the other Naked palettes, the Naked Smoky palette also comes with a step by step guide for various smoky looks, which is not only easy to follow but also inspiring.

I love that this palette contains an equal proportion of warm and cool shades, as well as shimmers, glitters and mattes. And contrary to popular belief, this palette isn’t just for creating dramatic evening looks. You can easily create soft and subtle daytime with these shades as well.

As expected, the formulation of the 12 smoky shades is great. They’re well pigmented, easy to apply and blend and last forever on the lids when using primer. Plus the duo blending brush is pretty good. It’s a synthetic brush specifically designed for blending and smoking out the eyeshadow.

So here are the 12 shades:

  • High (a champagne shimmer)
  • Dirtysweet (a medium bronze)
  • Radar (a metallic shimmery taupe)
  • Armor (a metallic silvery taupe)
  • Slanted (a soft metallic grey)
  • Dagger (a medium shimmery charcoal)
  • Black Market (a black satin)
  • Smolder (a plumy taupe)
  • Password (a cool taupe matte)
  • Whiskey (a rich brown matte)
  • Combust (a soft pink-taupe)
  • Thirteen (a light beige satin)

I’m so pleased I added this Naked palette to my collection. In my opinion, it’s well worth the money.

Are you a fan of the Naked palettes? Have you tried the Naked Smoky yet?

I bought this palette yesterday, haven’t got round to using it yet. It looks awesome. I definitely think UD make great eyeshadows, you cant beat the pigments and they look awesome. I’ve bought the cheaper versions that brands bring out of the Naked palettes and they don’t compare x

I don’t wear much eye make up but I do like the look of the grey shades in this palette.

Beautiful colors! I like how they contain glittery, shimmery, and matte colors.

I don’t know if it’s my lacking make up skills or just that eyeshadow isn’t my ‘thing’ but I can’t quite get excited about the Naked palettes. I did get swept along with the hype when Naked 3 came out and I didn’t actually like it nor use it so I think I’ll be passing on this one.
