Winter beauty essentials

Winter Beauty Essentials

It’s official. Winter is here. The clocks have gone back and the temperature is starting to drop. And with the darker and cooler evenings comes the inevitable drier skin and cracked lips. And while we may not be in the deepest throes of winter just yet, if you’re anything like me then you might want to start prepping for winter right now. So if you’re looking for products to keep you in top form and feeling your best, then here are my picks of the winter beauty essentials you need in your life.

Temple Spa Body Truffle £60

I couldn’t have a winter beauty essentials post without including a body butter. And this one from Temple Spa is just pure luxury in a jar! With cutting edge ingredients this body butter gives your skin a lovely glow, softens any flaws and heightens your skin lustre. It also leaves your skin feeling firmer, soother and boosts the collagen in your skin. Meaning your tired, dull or dry skin is transformed into radiant skin.

Souper Duper Zesty Lemon Handcream £6

While this brand is new to me, their handcream is one of my current favourites at the moment. I recently went to their launch event and was blown away by their products. And since then this handcream hasn’t left my handbag. It’s packed full of amazing ingredients including Shea Butter, Macadamia Oil and Aloe Vera and as you might imagine, smells amazing! It softens, soothes and moisturises my hands without leaving them feeling sticky or tacky.

Deborah Mitchell Youthful Moisturiser £19

This is one of my favourite hydrating moisturisers to use at this time of year. It helps to open up pores and black heads and helps to balance the oils meaning my skin is less oily – which is always a good thing! Although the formula is lightweight, it’s super hydrating and feels incredibly luxurious on the skin.

Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil £56.20

Since this launched in September, I’ve been using it non stop and that’ll continue now we’re in winter. It’s a really light facial oil that strengthens and restores the skin’s natural protective barrier. And if that isn’t enough, it also helps to shield against any environmental stressors, smooths any visible lines and works to lock in moisture. The result is lovely dewy skin that is a great base for makeup.

Janjira Regenerating Night Cream £26

Just like my day creams at this time of year, my night creams also need to be incredibly hydrating. Going from hot to cool weather really dries my skin out but this night cream from Janjira really helps to add the moisture back into my skin. It’s also incredibly light and non-greasy. It brightens, exfoliates, protects and targets dark spots. Plus the added Vitamin C and B3 leaves a clearer, smoother and more luminous complexion. What more do you want from your night cream?

Vichy Pore Purifying Clay Mask £14

I love nothing more than using a mask to brighten up my skin and this one from Vichy is lovely. Like all Vichy products, this masks has been formulated with their Mineralizing Thermal Water. The water contains 15 beneficial volcanic minerals which help to soothe and enhance your skin. It just make your skin look like your skin, but better. Unlike other clay masks I’ve tried, this one is lighter in texture and colour. It’s formulated with two types of white clay that’s been mixed with the Vichy Mineralising Thermal Water to give it the lighter formula. And it’s incredibly kind on the skin!

Prevasore £6.95

So the final product in my winter beauty essentials post is this little lip therapy from Prevasore. Using this on a daily basis just helps to keep your lips looking and feeling healthy. The unique formula is designed to increase moisture retention which helps to keep your lips feeling soft, protected from the elements and most importantly cold sore free.

What are your winter beauty essentials?
