Afternoon Tea at Kettners for Mothers Day

Not only did I treat my mum to some amazing Lola’s Cupcakes for mother’s day, but I also took her for afternoon tea at Kettners.

Firstly, I have to say the decor in there is stunning, having never been before I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I loved the interior, our table had mismatched chairs and cutlery all very kitsch and shabby chic.

We decided to go for the regular afternoon tea and having been talked through all the teas from the experts there we decided to go for some exotic sounding teas which were lovely and the attention to detail is amazing, even the milk arrived in a cute little milk bottle.

Now the food was stunning, the delicious finger sandwiches selection included smoked salmon and cream cheese, cucumber, ham and mustard and egg and cress. The scones were lovely with traditional jam and clotted cream and the cakes were just the right size to fit in your mouth in one go, not that we tried of course….

Some of my favourite cakes included the treacle tart, chocolate digestive biscuit and the trifle in the shot glass. Although it might not look like a lot of food compared to other afternoon tea venues, it was just right. We left there feeling satisfied, not so bloated that we’d have to be rolled out of the establishment, which in my books is a sign of a good meal!

A champagne afternoon tea at Kettners is available for £27 per person and is well worth a visit.

Merry
