Now seeing as so many of you liked my what I spent in January post. I thought I’d come back and share what I spent in February. So if you remember from that post, my goal for February was definitely to spend less on food and limit my shopping trips to one per week. And just spend less overall! Did I achieve that? Here’s my February spending diary.
Week one 1st – 7th February £2,029.29
Well as per usual, the start of the month was spendy! All my direct debits come out on the first. Although it’s still nice to have that council tax break. £944.15 went on the mortgage, bills, and household direct debits. I transferred a huge £1,000 into savings! And then spent £45.69 on food at Marks and Spencer and Tesco. Plus £24 on skincare at Boots. And £15.45 on random cleaning products at B&M and Home Bargains.
Week two 8th – 14th February £676.61
This week was a lot less spendy, but still a lot for one week. £5 to Beauty Pie, £15.98 on two new pillows. £60.63 on food at Tesco and Marks and Spencer. Oh and then £595 on two Aspinal of London bags. Whoops.
Week three 15th – 21st February £120.55
This week was very much food-focused. £8.59 on Deliveroo. £35.20 on food at Marks and Spencer and Waitrose. £7.99 on Amazon Prime. £16.99 on a new tripod accessory. £12.80 at the post office posting eBay packages. £10.99 on my Canva subscription. And £27.99 to BT for the internet.
Week four 22nd – 28th February £258.17
Payday week! So in an effort to be better at food shopping and spending, I’ve gone back to Gousto, which cost £24.50. £5 for NowTV. £13.99 for my Flodesk subscription. £40 to my friend who booked our FlightClub tickets for June. £70.70 for two beauty products from John Lewis. £9.99 for Spotify. £37.76 on Petrol. £40.24 on more food and cleaning products. And £15.99 to my blog hosting company.
So that’s my February spending diary. Despite trying to be good, I spent a whopping £3,084.62 but £1,000 of that was to top up my savings account. Goals for next month? Definitely cut back on unnecessary spending. I’m back on Gousto to cut back on food spending. And I really need to be less impulsive when it comes to adding things to my online basket. Especially if it’s another handbag! Have you ever tracked your spending for the month like this?
