Guess who’s back…

Guess who’s back, back again, Steph is back, tell a friend…. Anyone else have that song stuck in their head now? Sorry! So I’m back. Well, I didn’t technically go anywhere, life just got busy and shizz. And this blog took a back seat. Now if you didn’t already know, I work in Digital Marketing. And earlier this year I made the bold move of moving jobs. It was easily one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. But with the new job, came a whole load of new responsibilities. Responsibilities, I’m still getting used to. And trying to find a work/life balance with.

So coupled with a demanding job, big, important (and some would say life-changing) things have been happening in my personal life. No, it’s not a husband or babies, or any of those BIG adult things, but another BIG adult thing that will become clear in a couple of weeks. Mysterious huh?

Well, all of this has meant that my blog has taken a back seat. I’ve said this before, but my blog is probably the biggest thing in my life at times. I started this blog back in 2012 as a creative outlet to write about the things that interested me. Things like beauty and fashion. Rather than the Clearblue Pregnancy Tests and Vicks Vapour Rub, I was getting paid to write about in my old PR job. It’s also the longest commitment in my life. I’ve not been in relationships or jobs that have lastest six years.

Which is why I don’t think I ever want to stop this thing called blogging. People might think that blogging is dead, but it really isn’t. There might be hundreds of thousands of beauty or fashion bloggers talking about the same products, but niche blogging is thriving. And what’s my niche? Well, it’s me. And I’m ready and raring to go with a new look, a new feel and a new lease of life for Merry Musing.

And that is done to the wonderful woman that is Vix from Vix Meldrew. Knowing I needed some motivation and someone to help me get my blogging mojo back, I booked in for a one-to-one session with her and it was one of the best things I could have done. Not only is she just as lovely as you’d hope she’d be, but she’s also brilliant at working with you to find your niche and come up with a game plan that will help you take your blog to the next level. Whether that’s to take it full-time or just to keep it as a fun side hustle and hobby, like mine.

So what can you expect from the new, improved and rebranded Merry Musing? Well, you can expect a place for all 30-something women to come and find relatable content. Content that focuses on our kinda style, what beauty products we should be investing in and the general hurdles of being an adult. Like carving a successful career, buying a house and avoiding the dreaded B-word (babies).
