Life Lately

Life lately

It’s been ages since I last did one of these post. But I wanted to take a break from the normal beauty posts and just fill you all in on my life lately. Don’t worry. Normal beauty content will resume tomorrow. But in the meantime how quickly has the last six months gone? I feel like Christmas was only a few months ago and before we know it, X Factor will be back on our screens and Christmas music will be filling the shops. And I’m not sure I’m ready for that!

So what’s been going on lately? Well a lot really.

Job wise I’m in the same place I mentioned in my last Life Lately post. Although the role has slightly changed and we’re busier than every, I do still really enjoy it. Plus as I work for a candle company the novelty of getting to burn as many candles as I like, both in the office and at home, has not worn off yet.

Blog wise I really can’t complain. Month on month the opportunities just keep getting bigger and better. Readership has grown, as has my social numbers, and while it isn’t always about the numbers, it is nice to see some growth. This is my fourth year of blogging and I can still remember a time when only 10 people a day would read my blog. So to see that hundreds now read it everyday is a huge confidence boost.

As well as writing for my blog, I now also contribute to other people’s blogs. The main one being Really Ree. Which is just amazing! Ree’s blog is the reason I started my own blog, so the fact that I get to write for her site is just mind blowing to me. And because I like to not have any free time. I’ve also decided to offer my services as a freelance blogger, copywriter and social media manager.

Now for my personal life. I started the year with good intentions of getting fit and losing weight. And I seem to be doing well with one, but not so great with the other! Fitness wise, I’m doing well. I started and finished the Couch to 5K earlier this year and although I’m never going to be a great runner. I don’t mind it now. I also do a Boxercise class and Pilates class most weeks. Weight wise, I’ve managed to lose 10lbs since May with Slimming World, but I need to get my head back into it and stay focused. I have a friend’s wedding in September so hoping that will be a good incentive to get my bum in gear and stay motivated.

Health wise I’m doing well. Apart from a few injuries from the amount of exercise I’m now doing I’m in pretty good health. Although I have been making use of the Lloyds Pharmacy Online Doctor for any medical help and advice.

So that’s been my life lately. What’s been going on in your life over the past few months?

Good luck with SW… my mums successfully at target and has been for a year or two now although I can’t get into it myself and toying with whether to return to WW. I think the main thing I need to do is get my butt moving and participate in some exercise!
