Happy Monday everyone! Now as some of you will be able to tell. This site is looking a little different. New Year, new blog, right? As a blogger I’m never satisfied with how things are. I’m constantly looking at ways to improve. Improve my writing. Improve my photography. And improve the way the site looks and feels.
Blogging has definitely changed over the past five years. Back when I first started blogging. I had a VERY basic site on Blogger and took my pictures on my iPhone. But the industry has changed. You don’t see blogger’s doing that anymore. I mean you can, that’s the beauty of blogging. You can do what you want. But so many blogger’s are upping their games and changing the direction of the industry.
Now, so many blog’s look more like magazines. They’re full of more editorial style content and filled with professional pictures. But they’re getting the kind of readership and audience that a magazine would have received five years ago. And while I’m not at that level. It was time to definitely up my game and give the blog a little face lift.
So while I did like my old theme. I couldn’t resist a brand new WordPress theme when Pipdig launched their newest one – Maryline. Now having worked my way through quite a few Pipdig themes over the years. And I love them! If you’re self-hosted on WordPress, or on blogger then Pipdig needs to be on your radar. Mine is a Pipdig template too and I can’t fault them – so clean and fresh looking. My only gripe would be that they are everywhere now and you can spot one a mile off. Still the best by a country mile though.
