Skincare I can't live without

So last week I shared with you all the makeup I can’t live without. Which got me thinking about the skincare staples that I need in my life. Before I started reading beauty blogs my skincare routines used to involve face wipes and a moisturiser. But boy have I come a long way since then. So let me share with you all the skincare I can’t live without.

First up is a makeup remover and my favourite kind of makeup removers are the micellar cleansing waters. The one I’m loving at the moment is the Nivea Sensitive 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water. I’ve tried a lot of micellar waters on the market and they are pretty much the same. They are gentle to your skin, remove your makeup and leave your skin feeling fresh. Which is what I want my makeup remover to do. I also love that makeup removers like the Nivea one are brilliant at removing the toughest of waterproof mascaras.

Next up is one of my ultimate skincare products, the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. I’ve used this product for years now and can’t rave enough about how utterly brilliant it is. It’s such an easy product to use, it leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean and because it’s from Liz Earle, you know it’s good for your skin. If you’re not familiar with this product, it’s essentially a cleanser that you apply to your face before using a hot muslin cloth to remove the product and all your makeup. Its been a skincare staple for years and I can’t see that changing any time soon.

After I’ve cleansed it’s time to tone. And for me, one of my current favourites is the Clarins Toning Lotion. I never used to be a huge fan of toner’s. To be honest, I never really understood what they did. But I recently picked this one up and I am really enjoying it. I find that even after cleansing my skin can still have dirt on it and using a toner helps to remove any unseen dirt. It’s also really gently and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean and it smells amazing as well.

One of my skincare luxuries that I use far too much is the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. This is part serum, part toner that has a nourishing cocktail of ingredients to soothe, renew and purify my skin. I find that this is lovely either on tired skin in the mornings as well as a quick instance radiance boost throughout the day. I also use it over the face to tighten my pores or between foundation and powder to help set my make up. Sometimes I also just spray it because the smell is amazing.

And finally it’s time for a  good moisturiser and one of my current night time favourites is the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. This is perfect to use a few times a week when your skin is in need of some TLC. You apply a thick later before bed and in the morning your skin has quite literally ‘drunk it up’. When using this my skin looks and feels nourished and moisturised, which is exactly how I want my skin to feel. Plus, this mask smells amazing, really refreshing and fruity.

But what about the skincare treatments? Well you can’t beat a good exfoliation or microdermabrasion. And while salon microdermabrasion treatments can be expensive, there are some great at home machines you can use. If you’re interested, here are some of the best home microdermabrasion machine reviews.

So there you have it, this was the skincare I can’t live without. What skincare products could you not live without?

As someone with dry/sensitive skin I really love Micellar Cleansing Water – it’s much kinder on my poor skin! I haven’t tried the Nivea one, but it sounds like you like it 🙂
