Now long time readers, and those who follow me on TikTok and Instagram, will know of my love for a luxury handbag. It’s no secret that I started my designer handbag collection over 10 years ago with my first Mulberry Bayswater, and since then the collection has grown and grown. And while I would love to continue buying brand new handbags every six months or so. The continued price increases, the environmental impact and just not having enough money in the bank stop me. Which is why I love shopping preloved. But knowing where to buy good preloved bags is hard. So here are my tips on where to buy quality preloved luxury handbags in the UK.
So why do I love shopping preloved? Well, not only can you get exactly what it is you want, but you can sometimes get it for a lot less than you would if you walked into the boutique and brought it brand new. Plus it’s more sustainable. It’s a win, win all round. Over the years I’ve sold quite a few bags on the preloved market. Bags that have been sitting in my collection, gathering dust and not getting the love and wear they deserve. I’ve usually done this to fund new purchases, and I love the fact that I can sell a bag of mine on the preloved market and give someone else the chance to wear and love her. But where to buy and sell preloved? Well here are my favourite places:
Vestiaire Collective is a marketplace more widely used by established resellers. The site also offers the service of authentication at purchase, before sending it to you. Plus you have the option here to make sellers an offer on a particular bag or item that you want. Which means it’s possible to bag yourself a bargain on the site.
Now if you’re budget is more high end then Sellier’s is a great destination to get that ultra rare Hermes Birkin or Kelly that you’ve been after. They also have a huge selection of Chanel handbags, plus clothing and accessories for women and men. They have a great website but they also have a shop in Knightsbridge, and Monaco.
Again, another great site if you’re budget stretches to the big names of Hermes and Chanel. But they do also have a great range of other designers like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada and Celine. It’s also worth noting that they’re pricing is really reasonable with some of the best preloved pricing I’ve seen.
This is another firm favourite of mine. Mainly due to the amount of different brands they offer. You can shop Hermes, Chanel, YSL, Mulberry, Gucci… the list is endless. And it’s not just bags either. They offer homewear, accessories, clothing. And my favourite part is that they offer a £500 and under selection for those who don’t want to break the bank.
Again this is a great site, with a lot of choice from a lot of different brands with prices ranging from £35. You can absolutely grab a great bargain on this site. And the amount of bags they have is impressive too! But you don’t just have to shop on their site, they also have five shops in the UK, in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Chelsea and Knightsbridge. As well as one in Madrid.
Alongside these sits, there are also a couple of Instagram sellers that I would recommend as well. I’ve personally brought a bag and some shoes from Blaise Ruby Loves. She has a website, but also does a drop of the new items she has every single Friday. It’s a fastest fingers type of situation so make sure you keep up with her Instagram stories to know what is part of the drop.
The second one is Addicted to Handbags. Again, I’ve personally brought but also sold bags to her. She specialises in Mulberry, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Gucci bags, and again, resells the bags for a great price.
So these have been all the places I’d recommend for where to buy quality preloved luxury handbags in the UK. If you’re a fan of preloved designer and have any other recommendations of where to buy preloved luxury, then leave them in the comments.
