The new dating app for 2017

When it comes to dating in the 21st century, I think it’s fair to say that the majority of people have looked for love online. I certainly have. And why not? I shop online, I talk to my friends online and I even work online. Why would I not look for love in the same way? Now seeing as I’m single, I clearly haven’t had the best of luck! In fact I’d go as far as to say that I’ve lost my faith in dating apps. Especially Tinder. I have a love hate relationship with that app. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve matched with someone only for them to never message. Or when they do forget how to have a conversation. Or even worse you find out they’re not actually single.

JigTalk

Now I’m not saying Tinder doesn’t serve a purpose. It obviously does. And I’ve lost count of the amount of success stories I’ve heard. And I guess it’s the optimist in me that thinks ‘this time it’ll be different’ every time I re-download it. But I feel like my faith in dating apps is being restored thanks to JigTalk. This app puts your personality first. Rather than your Snapchat enhanced selfie. Initially your picture is covered in 16 jigsaw pieces but as you match with someone they’ll slowly disappear one by one. The app will ask the icebreaker question to help the conversation flow a little easier. And then with every message exchanged, another piece of the jigsaw will disappear.

I love the fact that you actually get to know someone a little better rather than just judging them on their picture. After all, it doesn’t matter how good looking you are, personality is key in a relationship! And I feel like that’s what missing when it comes to dating in 2017. With Tinder, people are disposable. There’s no incentive to talk to someone, as you can just keep swiping right until you find someone better looking. Which is why I love the idea of JigTalk. It’s definitely a new and different approach to dating, and I think it’ll do really well as more and more people become a little bored and frustrated with Tinder.

You can download JigTalk from the App Store or Google Play store.

What are your thoughts in dating apps? Have you found online? Would you try out JigTalk or recommend it to your single friends?

    It does sound interesting although luckily not something I personally need. I will mention it to my friend who isn’t partnered up yet and see if she wants to give it a try.

    I am starting to lose my faith in dating apps too although I am still using them LOL. I like the sound of jigtalk because a person can be super hot and have the personality of a brick wall. It is better to get to know them first! x

    Dating apps are deffo on trend and this looks like a good find, as not based just on pictures and like you say…you can actually get to know someone first 🙂 x

    I’m also single and have lost faith in dating apps, even though I’m not really looking as I’m perfectly happy being single right now 🙂
    This does sound interesting though – reminds me of Catchphrase! Might have to give it a go one day!

    THIS IS SUCH A COOL IDEA! I love learning about new apps and what’s out there at the moment. I’ve never used a dating app, but I love that other options aside from Tinder are an option and keeping things fresh with new ideas :}
