*This is a collaborative post, but as always, all opinions are my own*
Now I don’t know about you, but one of the perks of having a spare room and an office space is that I can decorate it exactly how I want. Which is why mine has pink walls, a giant white desk and vintage Vogue prints on the walls. And while I love working in it. I don’t love the fact that sometimes it can feel cluttered. Especially when I have piles of paper stacked up and empty plastic bottles everywhere. Which is why I’ve decided to turn my office into more of a green space. So goodbye un-necessary paper and plastic. And hello to my paperless and plastic free work environment.
Now you might be thinking, if your work is online, then why do you need to go paperless? Well despite running a blog, I still use a lot of paper. I print invoices to file, I constantly write to-do lists and I keep a lot of the paper press releases that come in the post. But having been inspired by the Seareach research which showed how easy it is to turn your office green. I decided to go for a paperless environment.
And it was a lot easier than I thought it would be! My invoices are labelled and filed electronically, I’ve asked PR’s to just send across digital copies of press releases, and my daily to do list is done via an app. Now it took me a while to find a to do list app that I like, having tried the notes function of the iPhone. But I really like using the Actions by Moleskine app. You can create repeat actions, colour code your list and even set alarms.
Moving away from plastic bottles to a reusable bottle from Chilly’s was even easier to do. Especially when they look as pretty as this flamingo one! Now I have to admit I was guilty of buying bottles of water, or Diet Coke to drink while I’m in the flat working. But I’m a changed woman thanks to Chilly’s. I love the fact that they keep your drink cooler for a lot longer. And they’re so much better for the environment. Plus, I think the fun design has actually resulted in me drinking more water. So it’s a win, win all round!
Are you inspired to try and turn your office into a green space?

I would love to have a spare room I could turn into an office space. I usually work from my sofa or my kitchen table which isn’t ideal.
I swear by my Chilly’s water bottle! I even bought my sister one for her birthday. So handy and I love all the cool colours and patterns you can get them in.
I wish I had my own work space to decorate sadly I don’t as I have to share my partners office and its way too masculine. I like the idea of an app that helps with storing my to do list.
At the moment I work from the kitchen but I would love my own office space.
I would absolutely love to have an office area to work from at the moment I work from the sofa as we live in a 1 bed bungalow! These are some wonderful ideas for helping make your space more green!
I really need to reassess my workspace. I have a desk upstairs, but tend to sit at the dining table as it is closer to the family etc. I treated myself to a chilly style bottle recently to ensure that I was drinking enough whilst working
This was such an interesting post! I never really considered how much I consume in my office, so it’s definitely food for thought.

I very rarely print anything these days, except for permission letters for the boys schools! But I have just bought myself a reusable cup to take in when I treat myself to a take-out coffee
I try to be paperless as much as possible. Yes it helps the environment but it helps my mind too as I hate being surrounded by clutter! xxx
I love my chillys bottle too! I use digital invoicing too but I sometimes still need to write it all out to make sense of it!!
